Darla Ozanne
Program Director
Darla grew up mostly in Ohio. She graduated from The Ohio School of Broadcast Technique and the Tennessee Institute of Broadcasting. She held several positions in both secular and Christian media before the birth of their first child in 1989.She had the privilege of being a stay-at-home mom with their three children until the station went on the air in 2003 and the children were in school.
Her favorite Bible Verse is Philippians 2:13
"For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."
Emily Ozanne
Production Assistant
Emily is the daughter of General Manager, Jeff, and Program Director, Darla. She is currently in college studying to become a Medical Radiology Technician. She works part time for the ministry as a Production Assistant. She has her father's technical aptitude and enjoys working with people.
Her favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Jeff Ozanne
General Manager
Jeff was born and raised in Michigan. He is married to Program Director, Darla, and they have three children. Jeff has been a professional pilot for 25+ years. He first became associated with Calvary Chapel in 1989 when he became Assistant Pastor at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa under Pastor Chuck Smith. There he oversaw the Drug and Alcohol ministry, the New Believers ministry, and Tape Lending Library. In 1993 he sensed God's call to Northeastern North Carolina to bring the good teaching of God's Word to this area--not knowing at the time the vehicle God would use. WGPS Radio signed on the air on his birthday, February 6, 2004. What a birthday present! One of his favorite Bible verses is I Timothy 2:4 For God our Savior...desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Maria Van De Walker
Music Director/Production
Maria grew up in Maine and graduated from the Vocational Technical Institute in Presque Isle. She moved to North Carolina from New Hampshire five years ago, where she owned and operated a Christian Bookstore. Her husband owns True Vine Online, a Christian filtered Internet company. She has two children, and is very active in her church with Youth Ministry, Choir and Stephen Ministry. She loves her position here at Calvary Radio and feels blessed to be a part of helping people grow closer to Jesus Christ through Christ-centered music and teaching.
Her favorite Bible verse is Lamentations 3:22-24
"The unfailing love of the LORD never ends! By His mercies we have been kept from complete destruction. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each day. I say to myself, "The LORD is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in Him!"
Pat Zahorchak
Volunteer
Pat is Darla's mother. She grew up in Wisconsin, and is a retired Social Worker. She and her late husband, "PaPa John," prayed for this ministry for several years before it went on the air. She has been a constant support and example of faithfulness. Though she'll admit to being a bit "computer challenged," she regularly volunteers her time at the station answering phone calls and working in the office. Sometimes even she is amazed at what she is able to do on the computer!
Pat's favorite Bible verses are John 14:1-3
"Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father's house are many mansions; If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
